Which is our favorite? It’s impossible to choose. Each destination has its own story and has left its own impact on our lives.
A Work in Progress
It all begins somewhere. This website and blog pages are in their infancy. I have years of experience in Caribbean travel that will take time to put into words, but I am not one to wait. Instead of waiting for a website to be complete, polished and perfect, this one will grow organically from its beginning days. I humbly and authentically share with you each stage of the growing process. Some content is still under construction. On this page I will add links under each destination to connect you with relevant blog entries. Thank you for your patience as my website grows!
Destinations…
-
Barbados
The whitest coral sand beaches, swimming with turtles, botanical gardens and green monkeys, but nothing beats the sunsets and colors of Barbados. We are going back in February and will share new insights here.
-

BVI
As the sailing capital of the world, it is best explored aboard a chartered vessel. For us country folks, it’s like camping, but in the presence of million dollar yachts and world famous beach bars such as the Soggy Dollar. I loved visiting places only dreamed about from Kenny Chesney songs.
-

St. Croix
No passport needed and direct flights from Boston. This was our first Airbnb experience. Don’t miss out on the Moko Jumbies and Fire Dancing shows.
-

Dominican Republic
Mega all-inclusives are not just for Spring break. When our son was young, I loved the convenience of Punta Cana resorts. Water parks, entertainment staff, and no worries about what everyone wants to eat at meals! Authentic multi-lingual experiences on the salty seas beats Disney for young families any day!
-
Belize
Snorkeling with Nurse sharks and sting rays has to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. What’s more, Belize locals happen to be the friendliest people of all our travels. Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker are 2 islands off the mainland of Belize. Fly your large commercial flight into Belize city then hop a tiny Cessna to one of these small islands where everyone gets around on golf carts.
-

Jamacia
My heart hurts for Jamaicia. Hurricane Melissa in October of 2025 has devastated parts of the island. I have visited Jamaica 4 times, once alone as a solo female traveler! One love, one heart, beautiful culture, people and music that will change your view of the world. Keep bringing tourism to Jamaica and help them rebuild!
-

Grenada
The Spice Island and my #1 recommendation if you want a quiet Caribbean experience. The 2-mile stretch of Grand Anse beach is picture perfect, with no mega resorts or sargassum seaweed! Explore the island and enjoy chocolate farms, tropical waterfalls, an underwater sculpture park and up-close encounters with Mona monkeys.
-

St Lucia
As close as you can get to feeling you are on the set of the Pirates of the Caribbean. The landscape of St. Lucia features the stunning twin Piton mountains and a volcano that you can drive into!
-
St. Martin
Owned by both the Dutch and the French, the tiny island of St. Martin has drawn us back multiple times for its convenience, laid back beaches, and variety of restaurant choices. Hang out with an espresso martini at the yacht club and watch the super yachts enter the lagoon through the bridge. Hold on tight as you watch jumbo planes land at Maho Beach. We love the catamaran day trips to neighboring islands like Prickly Pear or Anguilla.
-

San Blas Islands Panama
We spent 12 days exploring Panama from the Pacific coast to the Caribbean Sea. This farm family was definitely out of our comfort zone in Panama City, but from there we could tour the canal, take a catamaran to Tobago Island, and visit the Guna people on the San Blas Islands.
-
Costa Rica
While Costa Rica does have a Caribbean coast, we have only stayed on the Pacific side where tourism is more developed. Rainforests, waterfalls and volcanic spas feel less congested here than the Caribbean islands. For me it is all about the wildlife! For many years I taught thematic rainforest units to my K-2 students, and to see toucans, leaf cutter ants, howler monkeys and sloths in person was a dream come true. We have a trip booked for March and will provide new highlights here.
